Improving Your GRIP when Benching.. Like a Lego (?)⭕️⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Okay bare with me here, I know I’m stretching it a little but I like to keep things original and fun.

If you really think about it, “benching like a lego” is how you should generally treat your bench grip, in order to maximize the force production from the elbow up.⁣ It’s pretty much a bull dog grip, but this may resonate with other people better, perhaps.

What makes this grip better ?

Generally it’s very common to see people perform the bench press with a sub-optimal grip, and that’s likely taking some kgs off of your training sets.⁣ That means keeping the weight too high on the palm, which doesn’t really make the grip as efficient as it could be.⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Next time you bench, try to allow the barbell to sit directly over the wrist joint (you can do that by slightly rotating your hands internally): ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What this will do is eliminate/reduce the moment arm (MA) from wrist-to-barbell which can be seen on a “weaker grip”.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
This allows a much more stable and efficient force transfer from the elbows up, which can result in a stronger bench press. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Do you like this analogy or nah? 🤔 If so, let me know down below! I always try to make tips more original, and I hope this was one!⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
HOW do you grip your bench? Give this grip-tip a go if you’re looking to maximize force output out of your BP! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
