Protein powders everywhere and don’t know what to choose? What’s the difference between all those types of whey?

There are three main types of whey protein. Each one is better than the other from different points of view but in the end they are all the same.

The whey protein concentrate is the basic version most people choose because of the accessible price. It also is considered “relatively impure” because most of impurities come from lactose and fat so this is undesirable for lactose intolerant people. WPC is also the starting material for most whey protein supps. It has a medium absorption rate.

The whey protein isolate is one of the purest form on the market. It is great for lactose intolerant people because it has negligible amounts of fats and lactose. It has a relatively quick absorption rate but it also is more expensive.

The whey protein hydrolysate is processed from WPI or WPC by predigestion. Because enzymes break down the protein into smaller parts it has a very rapid absorption rate. These ones are usually the most expensive ones but take a look at the protein percentage before buying them.
