Tactile feedback can be a useful method for improving your mind-muscle connection. This involves having your training partner place their hands on the target muscle you’re trying to activate to create more sensory feedback and “feel” in the muscle. This method can get a little awkward, and certainly doesn’t follow social distancing guidelines. However, this can be a useful strategy to improve your mind-muscle connection on tricky exercises – I find this especially effective during rowing or pulldown movements, personally.

▪️ Example: Snyder, B. J., & Leech, J. R. (2009). Voluntary increase in latissimus dorsi muscle activity during the lat pull-down following expert instruction. The Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research, 23(8), 2204-2209.
