Whether it’s face fat, stomach fat, or finger fat, it’s the same thing. You need a calorie deficit to lose fat overall. You may have seen these “face jaw trainers” being advertised online, this will not increase facial fat loss.
Training a muscle does not increase fat loss in the region around the muscle. A good example of this is a 2016 study that made the participants train just 1 leg for 12 weeks while maintaining a calorie deficit [1]. The trained leg did not burn more fat, despite being trained much more over 3 months.
Essentially, we lose fat as a whole. based on your genetics, you may store more fat on your face or lower stomach. But as you stay in a calorie deficit, eventually your stubborn fat will decrease as well.
