Pushing the floor away from your feet’ to Deadlift⭕️

The Deadlift is usually recognized as a “pull” movement, but have you ever considered the perspective of “pushing”?

If this is new to you, you’re lucky, as this tip is likely going to improve your deadlift, especially in terms of engaging your legs – often overlooked when deadlifting, particularly for beginners.

Many novice lifters in fact, underestimate the importance of leg drive in the deadlift, mistakenly believing that it’s a movement predominantly powered by the back muscles (which are indeed involved).

All in all, the deadlift is a combination of pulling and pushing, but understanding “how to push the floor away feom your feet” will certainky serve you well in your DL journey!

Next time you’re in position to perform a deadlift, try this mental cue: envision pushing the floor away, as if you’re attempting to “push the earth away”. You’re likely to notice a significant difference in both your technique and overall performance.

I hope this insight can help enhance your deadlift experience and helps you to achieve your strength training goals!
