OVERHEAD PRESS WARM UP VARIATIONS
.
πŸ“šThe overhead press is one of the more challenging exercises due to its physical demand. If a proper warm up isn’t administered prior to an overhead press it could potentially lead to an injury. This series primarily focuses on thoracic mobility and eccentric/concentric shoulder flexion drills to help you warm up before overhead exercises.
.
βœ… You will need a foam roller and a barbell to perform the exercises in this series.
.
πŸ”˜ T-Spine Roll Out – keep the chin tucked at all times and stay away from rolling out the lumbar and cervical spine.
.
πŸ”˜ Push:Press up – keep the scapula retracted at all times throughout the motion.
.
πŸ”˜ Supine Shoulder F/E – make sure to go lite weight and keep a slow and steady tempo throughout the motion.
