How to use your arms in the deadlifts⭕️⁣

When it comes to gripping the DL, and really trying to focus on engaging the lower body muscles, try using your hands as hooks which grip to the bar only to hold it throughout the lift.

Use your arms as “ropes”: they’re holding onto the bar because attached through the hooks, but there’s no contraction coming from smaller limb muscles (asides from forearms of course which are held in tension through the grip).⁣⁣⁣⁣

Picture your arms as ropes, that can resist tension, and your hands as hooks which firmly attach to the bar, not leaving it. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

That’s it. That’s your “arm’s job” when deadlifting and trying to get the most out of your lower body work! No need to over-think it. You just grip into the bar as strongly as you can with your hooks (hands), to finally lift the weight through your lower body & leg drive. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Try this out and you’ll feel a BIG difference, besides making a huge improvement in efficiency for your deadlifts. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
