Not everyone has to walk 10K steps per day!

Let’s look at what the research shows👇

A 2022 meta-analysis reviewed 15 studies and found that adults below the age of 60 years get the majority of health benefits when they walk between 8-10k steps per day. While individuals above 60 years old already get most of the health benefits when they walk 6-8k steps per day [2].

Another 2023 research review of 12 studies found that the health benefits of walking seem to plateau somewhere around 8.8K steps a day for most people [3].

Of course, if you want to walk more, go ahead. There are also instances in which walking less can be viable. But at least now you know what a good average daily step count is for your overall health💪🏼
