3 Mobility Exercises for Low Back Pain!
.
1️⃣ Scorpion: Great for mobilizing the lumbar spine and activating the glutes too. I will admit this is an advanced movement and if you have a sensitive disc this may not be ideal to start with. This is something you have to work up to over time!
.
2️⃣ Bretzel: A great hip flexor, glute, and low/mid-back mobility drill! Holding the legs in this position is hard enough for the hips, and the extra rotation is what incorporates the spine!
.
3️⃣ Windshield Wiper Reach: This is the most gentle of all the 3 but by looking away and reaching from the direction the knees are dropping towards, you are rotating your whole spine like a dish towel and it will feel fantastic!
.
❌ Too many people are not taking adequate movements breaks to mobilize their spine, or to prepare their spine for activity. You can’t expect to sit in 1 spot all day and maintain your mobility! It’s not going to happen! And over time your spine will become like rusty joints. Don’t let this be you!
.
🔑 The key here is 3 different positions you can use to mobilize your spine in a prone, side lying, and supine position. Some of these may be harder than others but still just by routinely adding in some mobility movements to your life you will totally change the health of your spine and the comfort you have throughout the day. It will make a huge difference and I don’t want you dealing with these issues any longer than you have to! Now of course you are assuming these are the right ones for you, they might not be, but give them a shot and let me know what you think!
