Mindset Reminder

Getting results takes time. So the only way you can benefit from a certain training/nutrition approach is if you can stick to it long-term. There is research to support this. The most effective diets are the ones people can adhere to [1, 2].

Many try to have the “perfect” approach to training and nutrition, but it won’t do much if there is no consistency. I would rather have you focus on doing “good” and being consistent in your efforts, instead of seeking to be perfect and not adhering to the plan.

As an example, often people have the idea that they should do something drastic with their nutrition in order to see some progress. But you can start in more simple ways. Instead of aiming to completely eliminate certain food groups, you can start your fat loss journey by reducing your portion sizes with each meal by 10%.

The same goes for training. If you can’t train 5x per week, aim to train 2-3x per week. Doing something is better than nothing. As you gain momentum in your fitness journey, you can always intensify your training/nutrition to challenge yourself more.
