If you find it difficult to develop your biceps, then this post is for you. I discuss 4 simple tips to elevate your biceps training. Swipe left for more.

First, we want to make sure to train the biceps from different angles. Based on the anatomy of your biceps, we know that exercises in which your arms are behind your body target the long head outer head of the biceps more. This is because the long head of the biceps crosses the shoulder joint, so the long head is placed in a more lengthened position when the arms are in front of your body. While exercises in which the arms are in front of the body target the short inner head of the biceps more. So doing both bicep curls variations helps with balanced biceps development.

Next, you can also alter the focus of your biceps curls based on your wrist angle. By maintaining a hammer or reverse-grip, you focus more on the brachialis and brachioradialis, which helps the side of your arms and forearms look more developed. While with a supinated grip, the biceps brachii works harder. So based on what you want to focus on more, you can alter your grip durnig biceps curls.

Also, technique is worth mentioning when it comes to biceps curls. If you use momentum while doing curls or not using full range of motion while training biceps, it’s likely that your biceps development will be suboptimal. So focus on minimizing swinging while doing biceps curls and lowering the not restricting your range of motion.

Lastly, your biceps of course also get trained with compound pulling exercises like pull-ups and rows. If you want to focus more on biceps development, it can help to do one of your back exercises with an underhand-grip. Like chin-ups for instance. Your lats still get worked, but you have placed slightly more emphasis on the biceps now, helping them develop more.
