One of the most simple exercises you can train at home is the push-up. It is also effective. TheĀ traditional push-up has been shown to be as effective as the bench press for improving chest and triceps growth when performed at the same intensity [1].

But there are so many different push-up variations. Which one should you use? In this post, I showcase 14 different push-up variations and briefly note the main purposeĀ of each variation. This is not an exhaustive list of push-up variations, but I think this gives you a good overview of the main options.

One way you can keep yourself motivated for your home-workouts during this period is by setting performance-goals for yourself. You can pick and choose which push-up variations you would like to focus on based on your training goals.
