Low back pain when lifting things off the ground? Learn to move through the hips instead of the low back! Hip hinging can be a better way to move during these acute stages of recovery by emphasizing hip movement instead of low back stresses that may not be tolerated at this time. This keeps the back straight and engaged and may reduce your symptoms during tasks that involve bending over or picking things up.
.
1️⃣ Wall Hip Hinge: step around 6-12inches away from a wall, slightly bend your knees, put your hands on your lap with your arms straight. Now slide your hands down to your knees by pushing your hips straight back into the wall! This will be the pattern of the hip hinge. Feel the tension in the hamstrings and glutes instead of the low back, and apply this to your everyday movements!

I blow my lower back out every time I go heavy DL or squat the past 3 years so I’ve really just been going through the motions the past year. I’ve lost so much size my underwear boxer briefs were stretched to max and now they just sag it’s pretty depressing but is what it is
