Do you want to target different regions of your back? Then make sure you perform rowing variations with different elbow angles.

Keeping your elbows flared will help you target the Upper Back region more. While keeping the elbows more tucked will help you better develop the lats.

So if you want to train for a thicker upper back by developing the rhomboid, traps, and rear delts, train wide-grip rows. While for a wide-appearing back with more developed lats, perform narrow-grip rowing variations.
