How to develop great Triceps?

By getting stronger at a handful exercises that primarely overload elbow extension, through a full range of motion, over a long period of time.

Just like any muscle, what triggers the cascade of events leading to hypertrophy is mechanical tension, and continuous exposure to progressive tension which serves to challenge the muscle and force it to grow as a result.

It’s not the “new” unknown exercise. It’s the accumulated tension, over a long period of time.

Picking exercises that have triceps acting as prime movers or even synergistic, via a combination of isolating + compound exercises will be more than enough to target all 3 heads of the muscle. I know, it’s not fancy, and you would like me to sound more complicated than this… but that’s really it.

The best, and most optimal exercise that will grow the triceps *is the one that actually gets done*, so choose accordingly.

Variations are fine and you can experiment with whatever you like, but don’t get lost in the details. What matters is that you find exercises that you enjoy doing, and that you can stick to for long enough to progress on.
